Engineer, Guitarist  |  Rush, Aerosmith, Simple Plan

“GTR is a very cool discovery for me…It gives me guitar sounds that are eminently useful for everything from tracking to re-amping existing guitar tracks.”

“My background is pretty guitar-oriented, both as an engineer and a player. For me, players like Alex Lifeson from Rush and Aerosmith’s Joe Perry have really driven home the importance of big guitar tone! But it’s also exciting to work in other genres of music as great sounds and tones transcend musical styles. With GTR and the Studio Guitar Interface, you’re literally ready to ‘plug-in-and-go’ with an arsenal of guitar sounds a mouse click away.”

A recording engineer renowned as a stereo mixer as well as a pioneer in the world of surround mixing, Chycki’s body of work boasts contributions to Rush, Mick Jagger, Sum 41, and Funeral For A Friend to name a few, but it’s much more diverse than what one might expect of an engineer that made a name for himself working with guitar-driven acts. He’s had no qualms about stepping out of the rock box, having worked with artists such as Seal, Pink, Sean Paul, Dolores O’Riordan of the Cranberries, and P. Diddy.

True to form and flexibility, Chycki has scored #1 radio hits with acts like Aerosmith and Atlantic Records’ Needtobreathe. Chycki is currently mixing a new live DVD for Rush as well as completing mixes for Simple Plan and Skillet.
