“When it comes to guitar tones and processing (and pretty much anything else you want to throw at it), Waves GTR rules! Its combination of amps and cabs, with the flexibility of the microphones that are available is simply mind-blowing. GTR is very intuitive once you sit down and work on creating the right sonic vibe for a project. And that's just the beginning! When you start adding in the crazy Stomps, a whole new palette of sounds opens up. Being able to place FX after the amps creates a spread of sound that I haven't heard with any other software. Finally, and probably most importantly, GTR reacts to my playing just as my tube amps do. For me, that alone is worth the price of admission!”
Currently a string player with the Blue Man Group, Gareth's career started in the UK with his own band FAT on Mercury Records. After relocating to the USA, he teamed up with superproducer Ric Wake (Celine Dion, Mariah Carey, J-Lo, Dixie Chicks, and more), where his work on A&M and Columbia records led to a long spell on the road playing guitar and sharing the stage with everyone from Faith No More to The Prodigy.
Gareth’s music on an ESPN X-Games compilation album led to a production opportunity as the producer of ESPN Action Sports Radio. His film music credits include work for Miramax, Hollywood Pictures, MTV Films, and Bel Air Entertainment, with TV music credits for Jerry Bruckheimer, ESPN, TBS, Turner, and MTV Animation. As a guitarist, he has cut tracks for nearly every major label, including Epic, DV8/Columbia, Tommy Boy and A&M Records.
